The Tsitsikamma National Park is situated in the heart of the famous Garden Route in South Africa. The park offers some fine coastal scenery and sometimes the option of whale-watching.

Get in

By Car

You can only get in with a car. Simply follow the N2 and use the exit to the Tsitsikamma near Storms River.

By Bus

The main bus companies stop on the N2 near Storms River some km away from the park entrance as does the Baz bus.

Do

Go hiking! There are a number of trails starting at the campsite. The best known is the Otter Trail. This trail must be walked over a few days. You have to reserve first (do so many month in advance!) and bring your own food, sleeping bags, tents... on the trail. It is not always easy to walk, but can be managed, if you are not sick or overly afraid.

There is also a long free-hanging bridge to the east of the camp. It is called Storms River Bridge, because it crosses the Storms River. It can often be seen on photographs, advertising the Tsitsikamma.

A small shop in the park offers some groceries.

Eat & Drink

There is a restaurant within the park.

Sleep

There is a camp in the Tsitsikamma. It offers many chalets, a restaurant and a shop. Be sure to book a chalet before you arrive, especially during high-season.

Get out

• Jeffrey's Bay - the surfer's paradise to the east of the Tsitsikamma.
