By Plane

Split Airport is probably the second most important in Croatia. Scheduled services fly to major European cities, with summer charter flights from more.

The airport is midway between Split and Trogir, with frequent local buses stopping on the road outside the terminal. Taxis will also take you into town.

Trains run to and from Zagreb

By Bus

Frequent buses run to and from Zagreb, Dubrovnik, SibenikSibenik, Zadar, Rijeka etc. There are also a few buses a day to and from Mostar and Sarajevo.

Local buses run to and from TrogirTrogir and SolinSolin.

By Boat

Ferries run daily across the Adriatic to and from Ancona, Italy. There are also large ferries running every few days up and down the coast between Dubrovnik and Rijeka, stopping off at ports and islands on the way.

Local Boats - Split is the main hub for local boats and hydrofoils in Central Dalmatia. Several a day run to and from BracBrac, HvarHvar, SoltaSolta, VisVis, * Korcula Island (http://www.merano.hr/location.html) and LastovoLastovo.

Central Split is quite compact, but there are frequent local buses to outlying attractions and the airport.

  • Shop.
  • Take the boat to HvarHvar * Korcula Island (http://www.merano.hr/location.html)

  • Take a ferry to Bol, Brac.
  • Climb the campanile belltower next to the palace mausoleum. The stairs cling to the inside of the tower, and in places the steps cross the large open window spaces. The ascent is certainly not for those with vertigo, but the views from the top are marvellous! It costs only 5 kuna (£0.46 / 0.68?) to go up the bell tower.

Renting an apartment in the center of city, close to Roman Diocletian palace and 300m from famous sand beach. The apartment includes two rooms, kitchen and bathroom with WC+ balcony. There's connection of CATV.
