Sedona

Get in

Sedona is located approximately 90 minutes north of Phoenix, Arizona.

Sedona

Get around

A rental car is a must, as public transportation is nonexistant.

Sedona

See

Sedona is home to a bustling downtown and vibrant arts community, but the real attraction is the surreal, red rock landscape.

Sedona

Do

Buy an inexpensive Red Rock pass from any gas station or convenience store, and you'll be able to park at or near the trailheads for some of the most spectacular hikes in the United States. For a challenge, try Cathedral Rock. It's steep, but the view is unparalled. For a more laid back stroll, park near the end of Verde Valley School Road, and walk the rest of the way to Oak Creek Crossing. Other notable hikes and walks include Broken Arrow and Bell Rock.

For mountain biking, stop at the Bike and Bean for bike rentals, equipment, advice and friendly service.

A Pink Jeep Tour is a fun way to see the red rocks if you're not in to hiking or biking.

Feeling adventurous with your rental car? Take a drive up Schnebley Hill Road just before sunset. It's unpaved, narrow, steep, bumpy and recommended for those with four wheel drive only. The Pink Jeeps will take you up here, but it's much more exciting to make the trek in that rental minivan. Not only will you have a bird's eye view of Sedona, but you'll also be treated to the sunset turning the red rocks pink.

Buy

Tlaquepaque is chock full of restaurants and artsy shops. If you must take a break from enjoying the outdoors, this is the place to do it. http://www.tlaq.com

Sedona

Eat

Even if you're not staying at the Enchantment Resort, you're welcome to dine at their restaurant. Sit on the balcony, or by a window and you'll watch the light shift on the canyon wall as the sun sets.

Piccaso Pizza is outstanding! Very good Food, Pizza Choices are too numerous to mention. http://www.pizzapicazzo.com/

Sedona

Sleep

The Enchantment Resort is pricey, but very nice. If you're not willing to spend that much, try one of the many B&B's around town. The Penrose Inn is arguably one of the best. The service, amenities, and delicious, hot breakfasts are miles above average. Their view of Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte is unmatched.
