Althogh Basque Country is nowaday a spanish autonomous community, historically Basque Country (Basque Euskal Herria) is a region with seven provinces in Spain and France. These provinces are the three ones that make up the autonomous community, Navarra (Basque Nafarroa), Labord (Basque Lapurdi), French Navarra (Basque Behenafarroa) and Soule (Basque Zuberoa).
